The African Forum for Muslim Councils (AFMC) is the umbrella body that brings together national Muslim councils from across Africa. Currently, AFMC has 40 member councils representing Muslim leadership structures in East, West, Central, and Southern Africa. The forum mobilizes Muslim communities to contribute to a prosperous, peaceful, and inclusive Africa by strengthening leadership capacity, promoting development initiatives, and encouraging collaboration among stakeholders.
African Forum for Muslim Councils (AFMC) is a continental platform that unites national Muslim councils across Africa to advance peace, development, and cooperation among Muslim communities and wider society. Founded in 2018, AFMC mobilizes Muslim leadership to influence development, strengthen institutions, and promote peaceful coexistence across Africa. AFMC works with national Muslim councils, governments, civil society organizations, and international partners to address social, economic, and humanitarian challenges affecting communities across the continent .
Executive Secretary
The AFMC has an administrative body that is responsible for general management, administration and coordination of the council’s activities.
Chairman Board of Governors
The Governing Board which currently is composed of senior religious leaders who bear active leadership portfolios in their respective Supreme councils in their countries.
The Treasurer
Board of Trustees are members appointed by BOG from within member states to support AFMC
Head of Programs
The membership of the Executive Committee shall be a Committee of the Governing Board and shall consist of following persons from among the Governing Board.
To mobilize and advocate for development within member countries while responding to challenges affecting humanity.
A continent where Muslim national bodies positively contribute to peaceful and prosperous communities in Africa and the world while promoting the authentic image of Islam as guided by the Holy Qur’an and the traditions of the Prophet (Peace be upon him).
